Springer Appraisal Associates, established in 1959 by Robert Springer MAI, provides a wide range of valuation services. Every appraisal requires unique and specific appraisal education and experience. Springer Appraisal Associates appraisers hold Minnesota Certified Appraisal licenses and Appraisal Institute designations.
The Appraisal Institute is a global professional association of real estate appraisers. For more than 90 years, the mission has been to empower valuation professionals through community, credentialing, education, body of knowledge and ethical standards.
Appraisal Institute MAI and SRA designations are awarded to members of the Appraisal Institute who have met strict testing, standards and experience requirements. Designated Members agree to adhere to the Appraisal Institute’s Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice, underscoring a commitment to sound and ethical professional practice. Designated Members remain informed on trends and changes pertaining to real property valuation, enabling them to provide valuations that reflect the latest in professional practice. Appraisal Institute designations have long been recognized by courts of law, government agencies, financial institutions and investors as a sign of excellence in the field of real estate valuation and analysis. Because of the extensive training and experience, Appraisal Institute designated appraisers are more credible in legal and financial circles, making their appraisals particularly valuable in situations like litigation, estate planning or financing.
The MAI designation is held by appraisers who are experienced in valuing commercial, industrial, residential and other income-producing properties. The MAI designation is earned by professionals who provide a range of services on all types of real property related to providing opinions of value, evaluations, review, consulting and advice on investment decisions. Property types may include commercial, retail, industrial, hotels, office, agricultural, residential, special purpose and vacant land. They may also appraise residential properties in certain situations. MAI Designated members of the Appraisal Institute must have good moral character, be a Certified General Real Property Appraiser, hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, meet standards and ethics requirements, pass rigorous education requirements, receive credit for commercial experience that meets strict criteria and receive credit for the demonstration of knowledge requirement.
The SRA designation is held by appraisers who provide a wide range of services for residential properties related to providing opinions of value, evaluations, reviews, consulting and advice regarding investment decisions. SRA Designated members of the Appraisal Institute must have good moral character, be a Certified Residential or Certified General Real Property Appraiser, hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, meet standards and ethics requirements, pass rigorous education requirements, receive credit for residential experience that meets strict criteria and receive credit for the demonstration of knowledge requirement.
